INSTRUCTIONS
Assemble the Tip-Up
-
Install 2x AA Batteries using a small #1 phillips head screwdriver, remove the two screws from battery door.

Bluetooth = Lithium only
-
original = Alkaline or Lithium
-
Ensure the line clips are securely attached, install bobber stop on the line, add line clip, then tie on your lure/jig seed videos for more information in the video section

Power Button
-
Hold for one beep to power the unit on. The indicator lights turn on in 360 mode.
-
From the off position, hold button for one beep to power on, and continue holding for 2 beeps for lights in 180 mode. Check state and local laws for visibility regulations.

Hold button for 3 beeps, the unit will powers down.
-
To reset the Indicator lights after the unit has detected rotation of the spool, one quick press of the power button will reset the unit.
Adjust the Line Tension
-
Use the fully adjustable tension clip to set the sensitivity according to your bait.
-
For light baits like Wax worms or Euro larvae, set the tension lightly. Back bolt away from bottom of unit
-
For heavier baits like Sucker minnows, adjust accordingly. Screw down bolt on backside of tip up closer to the bottom of unit
-
Use the reference marks for quick, repeatable adjustments when switching baits.
Spool Setup
-
Swap out the spool easily in seconds by the push of a button. Pre-rig multiple spools with different jigs or lures to save time while fishing.
Using the LED Light Indicators
-
Green LED Tower: Notifies you when a fish takes the bait.
-
Blue LED Spool Rotation Indicator: Flashes for each spool revolution, showing the movement of the fish.

Line Counter: White LEDs indicate how long the fish has had the bait (5, 20, and 40 revolutions).
360°/180° Light Modes
-
Default: 360° LED lighting (full visibility front and back of tip up).
-
To switch to 180° (half the lights on), hold the power button for 3 seconds. This mode provides privacy, reducing light exposure to others around the lake. (check your state laws, some states require 360 degree view)
Flashlight Mode
-
Press and hold the flashlight button for 2 seconds to activate white lights in 180° mode.
-
Hold for another 2 seconds to switch to 360° mode for broader visibility, useful when packing up at night.
Hanging Storage
-
Utilize the ¼” hole at the top for hanging, adding a flag for better visibility, or securing it with a zip tie.

Bluetooth Instructions
Download the App
-
Visit the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and download the Ice Hawk Fishing Gear app.

Connecting Your Tip-Up
-
Power on the Tip-Up.
-
Open the Ice Hawk app and tap “Add Tip Up.”
-
A list of available Ice Hawk Tip-Ups will appear.
-
Select the Tip-Up you want to link. The app will automatically download the required data and complete the connection.

Once added, return to the home screen.
-
The device name will default to its Bluetooth serial number—you can rename it later from its device page.

Tip-Up Controls & Features (in the App)
Device Management

Rename Tip-Up: Personalize each device.
-
Reset Tip-Up: Resets the unit from the app.
-
Disable Tip-Up: Turns off the spool rotation sensor to prevent false trips while working with the unit. (Remember to turn this back on)
-
Firmware Updates: Download new software updates when available.

Monitoring Features
-
Catch Timer: Tracks time since the Tip-Up was triggered.
-
Spool Revolutions: Live updates showing spool rotation activity.
-
Battery Percentage: Displays remaining battery life.
-
Includes built-in low-battery detection, indicated by a constant red LED.

Lighting & Alert Controls
-
Flashlight On/Off: Controls onboard LED flashlight.
-
180° / 360° Lighting Mode: Illuminates half or all of the board for visibility or privacy.
-
Buzzer On/Off: Audible alert toggle.
-
Red Beacon Light: Fading red LED pulse every 5 seconds to enhance visibility in low-light conditions.
-
Note: Beacon mode increases power usage.

Beacon Brightness Slider: Adjust the brightness level.

Stealth Mode
-
Disables all physical notifications at the Tip-Up.
-
Alerts are sent only through the app.

Releasing Your Tip-Up to use on another phone
How to Remove Tip-Up from Your Phone
-
Power on the Tip-Up.
-
Open the app and allow it to connect.
-
Swipe left or right on the device name to delete.
-
Confirm deletion.
-
The Tip-Up will now be available for pairing with another phone.
Hard Reset (If Not Discoverable)
-
Power the unit on.
-
After a few seconds, power it off while continuing to hold the power button.
-
Keep holding for ~15 seconds until you hear a single beep.
-
The Tip-Up will reset and become available for Bluetooth pairing again.
